교환학생 프로그램 종료일이 가까워와서 호스트에게 감사 편지를 보냈더니 답장이 왔어요.
Hello Joanne,
I do not know where to start about Alice! She is a daughter that 'we' all can be very proud of. Maybe one reason I have not answered your note until now...me, not wanting to face the reality that she must leave.....and soon.
She has been the light and laughter in my life this past year...and I do not wish for her to leave...just as I know that her real Mom wants her to be back at home. Everyone that has met Alice loves her...young and old...my friends and family, at church, school....and everyone ask me what I will do when Alice must go home.....I will tell you, my heart will be broken as if it is my own daughter leaving! Alice has been very active in so many different things at school, church, and just being with friends and family here.
She will not be the same little shy girl that you sent off almost a year ago....Alice has grown in so many positive ways and so very mature....and still the little girl is inside her!
I told her to tell you she could not leave...that you would have to come pick her up....as we laughed! She does not really want to leave either...BUT does want to see her family that she misses so very much.
Now for MY reality: I will still be in school until May 25th.....so if she must leave early to be home in time for the family trip.....a departure date of Saturday, May 20th or Sunday, May 21st..... with a late afternoon departure time would be best from here...
Please let me know what your thoughts are on these dates.
