얼마 전에 호스트 가족에게서 편지가 왔어요.

 

Thank you for the letter you sent us.  Unice does seem to be doing very well here.  She is adjusting to the time difference well, and to her new school also.

 

She has been most polite here and fits well into the family.  We all like her very much.  We try to make her feel as comfortable as possible.  I treat her the way I would want my child to be treated in another country.  I am mothering by nature and like to give her a daily hug because, in part, she is not getting affection from her relatives right now.  I also like to cover her with a blanket and make sure she is warm enough...hopefully we're not overwhelming her in any way. 

 

Today, Saturday, she helped us with a little painting, played with the other children, practiced riding a bicycle with Doug steering, and did homework with Holly.  We then listened to 'The Sound of Music' cd while we ate supper together (since we found out that Unice likes this music, like us). 

 

Unice doesn't pressure me to fix Korean food, but I like to make her a little rice, noodles or tea...so she feels a little closer to home.  We Americans know that our diets are typically fattier than yours but we try to eat pretty healthy here and stay active.

 

We have been exchanging a lot about our cultures.  It is interesting to see both the differences and similarities between us.  The gifts that you sent us are so generous.  Thank You!  We bought Unice a jewelry box that plays music....she said she loves it and has it sitting on her nightstand.

근데, 페인트 칠 하고 있는데  옷을 뚫고서 모기가 물었다네요. 원래 알레르기가 있는데,  모기 물린 자리가 주먹만하게 퉁퉁 부었데요...
